KISHIO SUGA: WHERE BOTH SIDES MEET
Published on the occasion of the solo exhibition held at Museum Cobra, Amstelveen, Netherlands (June 28 – October 26, 2025).
For Suga’s first solo show in the Netherlands, Museum Cobra presented twelve installations in dialogue with fourteen assemblages and works on paper spanning the years 1969 to 2021. The exhibition takes its title from the artist’s 1976 text that reflects on the contact point between humans and nature as a catalyst for site-responsive art-making.
Alongside installation views and archival photos, this bilingual catalogue features a preface by the exhibition curator Suzanne Wallinga, short texts on each of the installations, and a conversation between Kishio Suga and Hans Ulrich Obrist.
